(BFM Bourse) – The traditional half-year results season has already started in the United States and will begin next week on the most famous index of the Paris Stock Exchange. And like every year, the releases are very concentrated in the last week of July.
It is a key moment in the life of companies that takes place in the midst of the summer heat: the results of the first half of the year. These publications make it possible to take the pulse of the large French groups and see whether they are ahead or behind with their annual objectives. The ball has already started in the US with the results from banks such as JPMorgan, Citigroup and Wells Fargo on Friday.
On the CAC 40, the kick-off is given on Thursday by Publicis, which thus becomes the first tenant of the index to reveal its half-yearly accounts. In the process, Thales will in turn deliver its results the following day, on July 21.
The last week of July will be busy
But the real main course will be served in the week of July 24 to 28. No less than 32 CAC 40 groups will deliver results this week, i.e. 80% of the index. Five of them (Veolia, Legrand, Société Générale, Crédit Agricole SA, Axa) will follow the following week
This high concentration is actually usual during this period, when companies announce their results to allow their employees to go on vacation afterwards. Although in the past there is a small remnant of CAC 40 companies published in late August or early September. For example, until last year Bouygues lifted the veil on its half-year results at the end of August.
Pernod Ricard, for its part, will close the ball by not publishing its half-year results, but all its accounts for the financial year 2022-2023, which ends at the end of June.
Here, by date, is the calendar of semi-annual releases (with the exception of Pernod Ricard and Alstom, which in turn publishes orders and revenue for the first quarter of its staggered fiscal year) for all CAC 40 residents.
