Choupette, the cat who criss-crossed France on her master’s head, is retiring

It all started on June 17, 2012, when joseph discovered a tiny ball of fur lying on the ground at Joeufcommune of Meurthe et Moselle. The baby, who was just 6 weeks old, was hungry and lethargic.

“I immediately took her to the vet, where she was able to receive treatment. I am certain that if she was abandoned it was because of her condition. Its owners did not want to pay”has explained joseph at News.

The man and the kitten have become inseparable to the point that joseph only went out in the company of his new sidekick. He has indeed accustomed her from a very young age to wearing a harness and a leash.

“Initially, I carried her in my arms during our walks. The problem is that after a while, it started to get heavy. So I taught him to put himself on my shoulder. Little by little, it rose on my skull, never to move from it again today.he specified.

A well deserved retirement

This is how for 7 years, Choupette (alias Choupette the Star due to his busy schedule) and joseph have traveled with the aim of doing good around them. In particular, they brought comfort to the elderly in retirement homes.

The appearances of the duo did not go unnoticed. “It appeared on TF1, M6, France 2, France 3, C8, but also on Dutch and German television”said his master.

But today, the white cat wants to slow down.

Indeed, if so far Choupette testified to her desire to go on an adventure, now she prefers to stay quietly in her house. “At the time, when the weather was nice, she would stand in front of the door and meow to get out. Now, when I ask her to go for a walk, she goes up to her room and groans. She is tired and needs peace. I respect his choice.”confided his master listening.
