It’s the end of hell for eight cats locked in a commercial cell of Saint-Avold (Moselle).
Monday July 4, 2022, the public prosecutor of Sarreguemines, Olivier Glady, ordered the seizure of the felines kept in ” premises that were unsanitary and in which they suffered from a abuse linked to shortcomings in care”, as the magistrate explained to Lorraine News.
A cat bar project denounced by associations
According to the information collected, this mistreatment continued for several months. The owner of the animals would have planned to open a cat bar in the municipality. The seizure took place with the assistance of the national police and the municipal police of Saint-Avold.
The case had a particular resonance with several associations which had denounced the situation through publications on social networks. “Mouldy excrement, moldy vomit, poor cats locked in a window like fairground animals. No bowl, no visible litter, a smell to die for when you pass by, ”describes the vice-president of the animal protection association Les Chat’Oyantes.
The felines were entrusted to the SPA of Forbach to receive care.
