Oct 9 (Reuters) – Tesla TSLA.O sold 83,135 vehicles produced in China in September, surpassing its monthly sales record in China, according to data released on Sunday by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), an industry federation.
This figure represents an increase of 8% compared to August while the American group continues to invest to improve production in its Shanghai factory.
Tesla’s previous sales record for vehicles produced in China was 78,906 electric vehicles sold in June.
Globally, the top-valued automaker said last week it delivered 343,830 electric vehicles in the third quarter, a record figure but below the 359,162 units on average forecast by analysts, according to Refinitiv data.
