Tesla’s autonomous driving system, Full Self Driving, will be accompanied by a new offer in the USA. The manufacturer is developing its Autopilot offer.
In the United States, Tesla has so far offered the Autopilot, a level 2 autonomous system, and sold the FSD. Full Self Driving is an autonomous driving system, which is under fire from critics in the USA.
If its features are effective, its price of 12,000 dollars brings criticism against Tesla. The lack of radar and LiDar was one of the criticisms heard about it. The fact that the system is worth that price and does not offer fully autonomous driving was also a reason for criticism.
Elon Musk’s firm has also filed a patent for radars, which could therefore return to Teslas. But in the meantime, the brand’s range of semi-autonomous driving systems will expand in the USA.
Autopilot Tesla: no accident linked to FSD beta according to Elon Musk
This version of Autopilot is making a comeback and is between the classic system and the FSD. It seems that the manufacturer wants to offer a much less expensive alternative to the FSD.
This option will notably offer navigation with Autopilot, automatic line change or even park assist. In addition, these cars will offer the Summon and Smart Summon functions, to park and exit your car automatically.
For Tesla customers, the opportunity to reduce the price of their Tesla is therefore clear. Indeed, the improved Autopilot costs 3,800 dollars, far from the 12,000 dollars of the FSD across the Atlantic.
