Twitter boss Elon Musk has restored former US President Donald Trump’s Twitter account.
Musk’s decision comes after a poll launched on the platform.
Musk, who bought Twitter for $44 billion last month, had asked users of the platform whether to restore the former White House tenant’s account.
A total of 51.8% of users participating in the survey expressed support for restoring the account.
Trump’s Twitter account was suspended following the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the Capitol.
More than 15 million platform users participated in the survey.
Trump, who has yet to speak on Twitter since his account was restored, announced his candidacy for the 2024 US presidential election last Tuesday.
Since suspending his Twitter account, Trump has launched his own social network, Truth Social, in which he has a financial stake.
