As promised, Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, released what he calls “the Twitter files” on Friday regarding the social media’s “suppression of free speech,” including the affair of the emails of Hunter Biden, the son of the US president.

“What really happened with the removal of the Hunter Biden story from Twitter will be released on Twitter at 5:00 PM ET,” Elon Musk wrote on his account, linking to author Matt Taibbi’s page.
The latter published in a series of tweets emails asking employees on social media to remove posts about the matter.
Remember to New York Post had published in October 2020 the secret emails of Biden’s son, recovered from his abandoned laptop.
“Twitter took extraordinary steps to remove the article, removing links and issuing warnings that it may be ‘dangerous’. They even blocked its transmission via direct message, a tool until then reserved for extreme cases, such as child pornography,” explained Matt Taibbi.
The Democratic and Republican parties would thus have intervened against Twitter to have certain tweets about this affair removed. To justify this control of the thread, according to Taibbi, Twitter would have invoked its “pirated material” policy.
If it is now known that Hunter Biden simply forgot his computer at a repair shop and that there was no hack, Twitter would not have had the “guts to back down,” according to the comments of a former employee.
Also according to Matt Taibbi, this deletion would have been made “without CEO Jack Dorsey’s knowledge”, but with “former head of legal, policy and trust affairs Vijaya Gadde playing a key role”.
