A retiree from the town of Montsinéry-Tonnegrande complained to Mayor Patrick Lecante of regularly hearing wild beast noises in his close environment. It was an ocelot who had taken up residence in the heart of the town.
An ocelot or margay cat had therefore taken up residence in the heart of the town of Montsinéry and recounts, amused, the mayor Patrick Lecante: “Obviously, this little feline, well known to our wildlife, had become accustomed to the proximity of neighboring dwellings by feeding on small rodents and other prey in our town. Perhaps an exchange of good practices… and a Nature-based solution to get rid of the pests of the city.
Undoubtedly, the wild animal was taken in by a good soul for at least 3 years and was considered a big cat that did a lot of service.
At the request of the mayor, Patrick Lecante and with the assistance of the delegated security adviser, Steeve Mayen, the OFB intervened this Sunday, July 3, 2022.
They could only note the absence of the young ocelot from the place, located not far from the town hall, where he had taken up residence.
